This Week in Review (From the Editors!)
It’s the end of the week, Madames! Time to check in with our editors and see what they’re loving and not so loving about the week:
CHINA’S LOVES
A Messy Shore: This week’s episode of ‘Jersey Shore’ concluded the messy fight between J-Woww & Sammie…if you don’t watch the show, I can’t say you should, but I will say, it makes for a pretty entertaining Thursday night.
But, Fantasia’s a Colored Girl Who Considered Suicide: Wonder if Tyler Perry ever considered her for the movie. Bless Fantasia; I hope she is keeping well.
Shadow & Act: If you haven’t yet discovered this amazing black cinema blog, you should: right now! From there, you’ll catch Ryan Seacrest’s post on how Willow Smith is stepping out from the shadow of her famous parents–and acting, singing, performing galore!
KWELI’S LOVES
Design Nerd: I’m a little obsessed with interior design, so the commercials for the new Nate Berkus show–though I could do without the screaming fans–have me excited. ‘The Nate Show’ (he’s one of Oprah’s recruits) debuts September 13 on NBC.
It’s Flu Season: Get your shots please, don’t spread disease, well, sickness. (yeah, I just made that up.) Another Oprah friend, Dr. Oz, is a great source of information and today revealed on his site the 5 Lifesaving Numbers You Need To Know. Check them out here.
Keeping With The Oprah Theme…: John Legend said on Twitter today that he’s in the Windy City, taping an episode of ‘Oprah.’ Can’t wait to see it! Check out John’s new video for “Little Ghetto Boy,” featuring The Roots.
