Solange Knowles & Lala Anthony
The last time we saw these two together was a few months before LaLa got married in 2010. Before then, you’d see pictures of them at dinner together, parties together and just hanging out at each other’s houses. Then, we stopped seeing them together and Solange didn’t come to the wedding. This seemed like a real deal friendship (not like those seemingly fake and thirsty friendships Lala creates all the time with famous women) so I wonder what happened here…

The Neptunes
Like, for real for real, are The Neptunes even still together, let alone friends? We know that Pharrell and Chad have been like brothers for years but things have clearly changed over the last couple of years. We haven’t heard a track produced by them together in quite some time (Pharrell does a lot of solo work) and has anyone even seen Chad lately? It seems the brotherhood may have run its course or maybe like many family members they’re just having a rough patch. Side note: Am I the only one who can tell the difference between a Pharrell produced track and a track produced by The Neptunes?

Gabrielle Union & Hill Harper
For a while, I believed that these two were a couple but after some time of observation, they really looked like very good friends. And now…they’re never together. I get it: Hill’s off trying to help young black men and women understand themselves better and Gabby’s off being the lady in Dwyane Wade‘s life. They probably just don’t have time for each other anymore like they used to. I must say they always looked like they were having a good time together.

Rihanna & Teyana Taylor
If I had to take an educated guess, I would say that after Rih and Chris Brown broke up, Teyana needed to take a stand on who she wanted to be friends with the most (she was mutual friends with them) and that was it for the friendship with Rihanna. These two young ladies weren’t seen much together after that but for at least another year, we saw Teyana hanging with Chris. It was probably best for Rihanna at the time anyway.

Tiny & Toya
Here’s the thing: I want to believe these two are still friends and life is just getting in the way of them being able to hang out. You know, they’re both married now and they both have kids so it just may not be that easy anymore. On the other hand, Tiny’s husband T.I. didn’t really want her to be on television and Toya took her daughter out of OMG Girlz, a girl group Tiny started – both things that could have put strains on their relationship. But before television they were good friends and I sincerely hope that hasn’t gotten in the way of the love.

Jay-Z & Lebron James
I was thinking it had been a minute since we’d seen Lebron and Jay throwing up the “ROC” together. I recall a few months ago when Jay and Bey took their nephew Juelz to the Knicks/Heat game and Lebron gave Julez autographed sneakers but that’s been about it. There have definitely been rumors that ever since Lebron went to the Heat there’s been “trouble in paradise” but they’ve both dismissed that type of talk. But there was no “Two Kings Dinner” this year and there’s always a Two Kings Dinner. Hmmm…
