Don’t sweat it. It’s definitely possible to go hard at the gym and still have a nice hairstyle at the end. There are plenty of ways to wear your hair that will stay put and don’t involve a myriad of clips and headbands. Try these styles that will keep you looking fly at the gym and beyond.

Braids

Braids are always a safe bet when it comes to working out. You can wear them in a multitude of ways that’ll endure a tough exercise routine. If you’re in a rush, a side braid is fast and will remain in place until the last sit-up and still be able to take you to your next outing in a cinch. Jazz it up a bit by giving yourself a deep side part and braiding the front from one side to the other.

If you have a bit more time, a goddess braid will keep hair out of your way while you’re working up a sweat and also look cute if you’re meeting friends after your workout.

A bonus? If you take them down at the end of your session, you’ll have plenty of pretty nice summer waves – or what many refer to as a braidout.

Buns

Buns are a nice way to get by with wearing your hair in a cute style to the gym without looking overly done up, yet still chic enough to head somewhere for a little fun when you leave. This style can be very traditional, but simply placing it to the side gives it a fresh take and a little personality.

A high bun is also a very nice alternative if you have somewhere to be after exercising.

A chignon is a modern take on the bun. As intricate as this looks, putting it together is actually relatively simple. Just pull back into two ponytails, tie a knot then wrap one side to the right and one side to the left. Discreetly pin the ends.

Ponytails

Ponytails are the quickest style to throw together when you’re about to hit the gym, but they don’t have to be boring. Remember the topsy tail? Well, it just came back in style. It’s very simple to do and puts a nice twist on an old look.

The side pony is another example of how small changes can have a major impact. Try tweaking your ponytail by pulling it to the side. It’ll stay in place and be fashionable enough to keep for the rest of the day and night.
