Couples We Didn't Think Would Still Be Together!

Ahhh, the entertainment industry.  The place where the hook-ups, shake-ups, breakups, and makeups are enough to give us pause sometimes.  You can never put anything past celebrity hook-ups and we usually don’t think they’ll last but these couple, so far, seem to have some special brews going that make them work.  Swizz Beatz & Alicia Keys

When they first got together, I was thrown off a bit – they seemed like such an odd pairing.  I just knew it was only a matter of time before they call it quits. But they actually seem quite happy together.

Shaq & Hoopz

This looked like a “fun in the moment” relationship but they’ve been going quite strong. There was that nasty little rumor about them breaking up and Shaq calling security to haul Hoopz out of his house but that went away almost as soon as we heard it.  I don’t really see marriage in their future (Shaquille seems like he might steer clear of that at this point) but they’re doing good and I like them together.

Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie

Here’s why I didn’t see it for “Brangelina” for awhile: Angelina looks like she chews up men and spits them out.  I really saw this as just some fun thing – two big Hollywood stars hooking up (especially with all the scandal surrounding how they got together). But now they have kids and they’re talking marriage and…it just seems to work.

Wiz Khalifa & Amber Rose

You all just refuse to let these two be great! When Amber first got with Wiz, she was thrown all the way under the bus and Wiz was seen as a downgrade from her previous relationship with Kanye West.  Yes, we were all confused about the hook-up and because people see Amber as a golddigger, no one thought it would last.  But, Amber says she’s treated like a queen and apparently, they’re planning their wedding.

Nelly & Ashanti

Remember when they were called the “poor version” Beyonce & Jay-Z?  “Poor” was never the right word but I understood it.  I didn’t see it lasting but here we are, something like 10 years later, and these two are still…something to each other.  Now, I don’t know, people…I just don’t know.  Ashanti spent almost her entire 20s with him, off and on, and here she is in her 30s seemingly still with him.  Nelly doesn’t come across as the “settling down” type but who knows.  Side note: I LOVE this picture of them.

Shannon Brown & Monica

Okay, here’s why we didn’t see it for them at first: (1) they allege they met for the first time on her video set, (2) they got married really quickly and (3) he’s a few years younger than her.  But they’re so cute together!  It’s still only been a couple of years for them but I like it and look forward to seeing more of them.

John Legend & Chrissy Teigen

Be honest: Did you see this last as long as it has?  They’re a beautiful, seemingly smart couple, no doubt, but did something ever make you say, “Is this real?” Yeah, me too.  But they’ve been together a couple of years and now they’re getting married!
