You never forget your first love. Whether you look back on the experience with fond memories or complete frustration, that person stays with you for a long time, if not forever. Some of us merely reminisce about our first love and appreciate or loathe the experience while others have yet to get over the person who first captured their heart. We took to our Facebook and Twitter pages to see whether or not our followers had truly moved on. Here’s what they had to say…

@IamKayMarie: I’m over my first love but it took yrs & growth. Just cuz you still have feelings for someone don’t mean you are meant to be.
Tonessa: Yes! He was my first, but not my only. He’ll always be my first love (who I don’t even care for now), but he WON’T be my last/permanent love. His loss, but I’m thankful for it b/c I do want to be happy and I currently am!
Dana: I’m not the same girl I used to be, so my attractions are completely different.
Brandi: Finally did. It’s all an illusion once you get real with yourself.
Tonya: Yes. Took me 3 years & FINALLY! Yes. Glad it happened, learned lots & happy we are still cool.
Keyzer: Never, ever… Impossible. You can move on & live life good… But there will forever be the reminder or memory of the “first wound” to your heart. For some, it’s their last… And all the gates & guards come up.
Claudia: Yeah… it took a few years, a bit of distance and a dash of self-discovery but I got there in the end 🙂
Vickeyas: I have not gotten over my first love and I don’t think I ever will. My reasoning is what the two of us shared was special, he was my first and I do not think I have ever shared that feeling with anyone else. Maybe when my husband(whoever he may be) comes along, then I will feel differently….but until then I am stuck.
Jacquelyn: Every time I see him I still get giddy!
Savon: The hymen breaker or the actual 1st Love???
Monique: Not yet because we have a small child together and were together for almost 9 years. But my first doesn’t mean my last. One monkey don’t stop the show and I know that even if I don’t find a love like we had together, I gained an eternal one with the birth of my daughter.
Charla: I would hope not since I’m marrying him in February. *Smile*
Tekiah: It took a while…but yes. Nothing like that first one 😉
Erica: I thought I had but we got back together after 20 years. We’ve been married for two years now.
@BigBootyBajan: Oh hell yes! When he cheats on u, then leaves u when you get pregnant, denying all knowledge of you, love don’t live here nemore
Niya: Yes when after 8 years he left me in labor with our second child to marry a Anesthesia Nurse he’d met (and cheated with) for 4 months. Joke was on him cause he didn’t know she was CRAZY and now I’m the happily married one!!!
Monique: Omg nooooooo!! I can’t get over what we had. We had plans….or at least I thought so. But I will never go back. It’s true what they say about different people for different seasons and reasons. He pretty much tarnished my trust but what we had remains a vibrant memory that I refer to often. Tis what memories are made of and for.

Charlene: No…and he just popped back into my life a couple of days ago….*sigh* Making it that much harder to forget about him
