Lets talk Phat and Fabulous!

Who said skinny girls were the only ones who valued chic and fashion trends?

Certainly not true! For  all of those plus size sisters out there, searching for more fashionable alternatives, not to fear, there’s a plethora of plus size fashion available online to have you looking like a celebrity in no time. This one’s for the late plus size supermodel Mia Amber Davis, RIP. Here’s our top 10 plus size sites to turn your ensembles from blah to va va voom!

Monif C is a plus size designer which has been featured on BET’s Rip the Runway and countless other high profile shows. Monif C’s Collection is known for the signature “Marilyn” Convertible Dress and her oh so Hot high waisted bikinis.  In addition to being voted “Best Plus Size Designer by Full Figured Fashion Week, Monif C’s Collection has been featured in Essence, Ebony and Upscale Magazines. I had the pleasure in modeling her cheetah print jumpsuit in a fashion show 2 years ago, and I felt like an African Goddess. Definitely one of my faves!

Very.com

Very.com is a clothing site featuring clothing sizes 2-24. I love Very’s variety of clothing and accessories. Very’s online store services the UK and the United States with a variety of clothing styles from contemporary to chic. I especially love Very’s fitness clothing collection; their tracksuits are lightweight and will make you look fabulous even during a workout.

Lane Bryant is a long-time veteran in the Plus Size Fashion game. Although some of its fashion tends to be more conservative, to serve ladies above age 25, signature staples such as their undergarments; the Cacique line, denim and hosiery, will always give Lane Bryant the necessary factor. Need a good pair of spanks, a bra that will slim the back and look perfect in a low cut dress? Lane Bryant is the one stop shop.

Fashion to Figure offers trendy plus size clothing for women sizes 12-26. I have the Snakeskin Print vinyl dress pictured above and as a size 16, I can admit it looks great on a plus size figure. Often plus size ladies shun wearing styles such as this because of the plunging neckline or the risky skin baring design. Not to worry, to be a bit more safe in a look like this, try wearing dark stockings or tights paired with a platform heel. Also, I always wear a little something to cover more of the midsection and bra center strap.

Torrid is that one plus size store that never seems to let me down. From the  trendy shoes to the well-fitting swimsuits and awesome shape wear, Torrid gives plus size ladies the opportunity to purchase an entire wardrobe both online and in-store. My favorite Torrid product is their curvy skinny jean. For less than $100, they’re slimming and the perfect foundation for a relaxed day at the office look, or an after hours ensemble.

Last but certainly not least is the Queen Grace Collection. I had the pleasure of participating in a Fashion Show at Howard University this past Fall and wore the Leather/Polyester sleeveless dress from her fall collection. All of the other models raved about how wonderful the clothes made them feel and how wonderfully they fit. The Queen Grace Collection is small, but it is definitely a hidden jewel amongst Plus Size Fashions. Who wants something everyone has anyway? The Queen Grace Collection uses strong fibers and specific details which cater to the shapes of ladies sizes 12-26.
