New Video Love: Melanie Fiona, John Legend and The Roots
There’s a lot of pressure when remaking a classic song, from a classic artist like Teddy Pendergrass. But with the joint talents of John Legend, The Roots, Melanie Fiona and Common, a hit is sure to be made.
The artists got together to record and film the video for Pendergrass’s hit “Wake Up Everybody.” Filmed in downtown Brooklyn, the track is off the upcoming collabo project with Legend and The Roots. To be released in September, the album will feature soulful music from the 60’s and 70’s all with an underlying theme of awareness, engagement and consciousness.
