This isn’t the first appearance of the ombre trend on the scene, but it sure has gained a strong following. The trend has bounced from clothing, to nails, and, most recently, landed on hair. The look was originally worn by women that were growing out their light hair color or by those that were a bit lazy with the touch ups. Well, looks like they have the last laugh because the ombre style has evolved into a purposeful style that many celebs are showing off on the red carpets. Go figure!
Teyana Taylor (pictured above) looks great as she pushed the trend to the extreme with pastels, but the rest of our list is full of trendsetters that embrace more natural hues. Let’s all lighten up and get inspired!
Raven-Symoné
The singer/actress decided to go from black, to brown, to honey blonde. This is dramatic, but it works! Everybody loves Raven!
Rihanna
Rih Rih’s hairdo from the 2012 Grammy’s is the perfect example of imitating ‘a gal who needs a color touch-up’! Somehow, like many things Rihanna wears and does, this look works in her favor. Gotta love her!
Keke Palmer
Another triple threat, Keke leads the pack with the black, brown, and blonde ends. As a bonus, this trend looks cute both straight and curly! She’s working it!
Ciara
The pop star goes for a drastic contrast with black and platinum blonde tresses! It’s a bit harsh and we would have loved to see something a bit softer. Yet, she ultimately got what she wanted…attention.
Khloe Kardashian
The reality star sets herself apart from her sisters with this trend. She shows us how a woman with a brown base (as opposed to jet black) rocks the trend. The fiery orange and blonde combo is hot!
Chanel Iman
Supermodel Chanel Iman has been rocking the ombre trend for a while now and we aren’t tired of seeing it! She found a great shade to contrast with the black. It’s a mixture of brown and honey and we like!
Sarah Jessica Parker
I just want to say that if you can’t get with Sex and the City, then personally I’m not sure I want to know you. Just kidding. Sort of…But SJP’s hair changes during the show and on the red carpet are always on point. She’s another one that can make almost anything work, and this ombre style is no different.
Draya Michele
The Basketball Wives LA star has jumped on the ombre bandwagon as well. It’s a move in the right direction and a nice update from her all black locks. Three colors at once is tricky, but she pulls it off well.
Camila Alves
Accessory designer and Matthew McConaughey’s main squeeze goes the subtle route with the ombre trend. The brown hue is really concentrated on her ends and slightly frames her face. Nice!
Aaliyah
Last, but certainly not least, no one does it like Aaliyah. She opts for auburn ends which result in this pretty look. Her tresses are proof that ombre hair is a recycled trend, but she wore it well. She’ll forever be a trendsetter.
