Meghan Markle Addresses Using Pricey Cookware On Netflix Show
Meghan Markle Claps Back At Criticism Over Cookware Deemed ‘Too Pricey for Black Women On Netflix

Social media opinions have left Meghan Markle utterly confused. The Duchess of Sussex recently responded to the online controversy surrounding her preference for Le Creuset pots featured on her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan.
For a quick refresher, many social media users slammed Markle’s use of Le Creuset pots, claiming that the cookware was too expensive for Black women to buy and way too over-the-top in comparison to the traditional version made of cast-iron.

However, Markle also had many who came to her defense, as Black women began shutting down the myth that Le Creusets were too expensive by showing their own collections.
In an interview with the New York Times on April 2 alongside her mother, Doria Ragland, Markle responded, “This is a thing in 2025?” To which her mother quickly added, “Everyone is coming in hot these days.”
Markle also briefly addressed the claims of elitism against her, telling the outlet, “Don’t they know my life hasn’t always been like this?”
Speaking about her decision to film With Love, Meghan in a kitchen that is not her own, Markle said the choice was about protecting her sacred space.
“I wanted to protect that safe haven,” Markle said, per People. “We’re a close-knit family, and I love those moments — putting Lili down for a nap, having lunch together, having sacred time together at the end of the day. Our kitchen is where Mama just cooks for the family, and with a crew of 80-plus people, that’s a lot of people to have in your house!”
“I think no matter how much things change, I love that at our core, we’re the same as we’ve always been,” the Duchess said of her current life as a wife to Prince Harry and mother to children Princess Lilibet, 3, and Prince Archie, 5.
All eight episodes of With Love, Meghan are currently available to stream on Netflix.
