Tamar Braxton and Evelyn “Ms. E” Braxton are back with episode 103 of Cooking Sessions, and this time, they have a special guest in the kitchen—Tamar’s son, Logan Herbert, who’s excited to help prepare a beloved Braxton family classic. The episode features their famous Salisbury steak, paired with a rich gravy, rice, and steamed broccoli, a dish that’s been a staple in the Braxton household for years.

The episode begins with the family diving straight into their scrumptious Salisbury steak recipe, which includes key ingredients like ground beef, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and eggs, which help bind the mixture together. Logan, 11, who has been learning to make this dish with his grandmother since 2019, eagerly joins Ms. E in mixing the ingredients. Together, they combine the spices and beef and then fashion the mixture into small, perfectly shaped Salisbury steaks.

Once the steaks are formed, Logan and Ms. E move to the stovetop, where they sear the steaks until golden brown on both sides, ensuring they’re cooked to perfection. While the steaks cook, the family moves on to preparing the rice and making a delicious, savory gravy. To make the gravy, Ms. E and Logan sauté onions until they’re caramelized, bringing out their natural sweetness while simultaneously cooking the mouth-watering base for the family’s iconic gravy by combining flour, butter, olive oil, and a little water to thicken the mixture. The result is a smooth and flavorful gravy that will perfectly complement the Salisbury steaks.

Next up is the broccoli. The duo prepares it simply but with a lot of flavor. They season it with chicken bouillon, water, butter, and a pinch of salt. The broccoli steams to a vibrant green color ready to serve alongside the rich and hearty Salisbury steak. With all the components coming together, it’s time to plate the dish. The creamy gravy is poured generously over the Salisbury steaks, and the rice and broccoli are served alongside, creating a complete, comforting meal that’s sure to bring everyone to the table.

Throughout the episode, the family shares tips and laughs, showcasing the bond they share over food. It’s clear that cooking is a way for the Braxtons to connect, and Logan is now continuing the tradition of making this family favorite alongside his mom and grandmother.
