The red carpet has always been the stage for celebrities to showcase their best and boldest fashions. Many seize the moment to make a statement or cause chatter. Kanye West, now known as Ye, and his wife did something similar at this year’s Grammy Awards. Ye dressed regularly in an all-black ‘fit, but Bianca Censori was essentially nude.
The dress she wore was completely see-through and she was wearing no undergarments. It was the talk of the night even though the couple didn’t go into the awards. But they aren’t the only ones that have caused a stir on the red carpet. Let’s look at 10 other celebs who have done the same.

Back in the year 2000, Jennifer Lopez stopped the world when she wore her infamous green Versace dress. The floral piece had cutouts throughout the gown, including a deep neck. It also showed a lot of legs. Lopez sported the outfit for the Grammys and it was not only a pivotal moment for her but for the world.
Because it was searched so much on Google, Google realized they needed to create a more efficient way to search for images. Then Google Images was born. In an interview with Vogue, Lopez reflected on the dress and its impact.
“I guess every generation needs its iconic kind of Marilyn dress, and this is that dress for this generation,” she said.
2. Rihanna, 36

It’s hard to choose just one look that Rihanna wore that wowed the world. This fashionista has gained a reputation for rocking some of the best and daring looks. One of her earliest ensembles that got a lot of attention was her outfit for the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards in 2014.
She wore a sheer gown that was custom-made by Adam Selman with 230,000 Swarovski crystals. The bad gal had eyes popping that night as many noticed she didn’t have on anything under it but underwear! Her bare breasts and backside were left out for people to see.
Selman himself explained what he and Rihanna’s thought process was behind the dress. “We definitely wanted to make it a little bit scandalous,” the designer told Style.com. “The dress is just fishnet and crystals and a couple of fingers crossed. But fashion is about beauty, and the [female] body is part of that.”
3. Gabrielle Union, 52

There’s no denying that Gabrielle Union holds the crown for having one of the most drop-dead gorgeous faces. But sometimes her outfits are in question. In 2023, she attended the American Black Film Festival screening for her film The Perfect Find.
For her attire, she chose a complex but eye-catching outfit made by French designer Burc Akyol. It was a black and white bodysuit, which featured a turtleneck and long sleeves. Attached was a black sheer skirt that gave lookers a good view at her boo-tay.
While Union seemed proud enough of the look to post it on Instagram, she got mixed reviews from followers. Some thought the look was too revealing while others believed she looked fabulous!
4. Zendaya, 28

Zendaya is one celebrity who very rarely misses when it comes to her red carpet looks. With the help of her longtime partner-in-crime stylist, Law Roach, she snagged another red carpet win last year.
She stunned at the 2024 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in a Cher-inspired gown. It was a gold, vintage Bob Mackie dress with cutouts in the midriff area. The look received a general nod of approval from the public.
5. Doja Cat, 29

Doja Cat is so unpredictable. Not only with her music but her style. One minute she’s covered in 30,000 red crystals and the next she’s wearing eyelashes on various parts of her face. The “Attention” rapper also doesn’t mind showing a little skin.
In fact, she showed a lot of it in 2023 at the Video Music Awards. She wore a thin-layered, white, sheer, spiderweb-influenced dress. The Monse piece had several cutouts in it both big and small. Through the gown, you could see Cat’s bosom and her nude-colored thong.
6. Ciara, 39

Singer Ciara tested out a daring outfit at the 2023 Vanity Fair Oscars party. She wore a black, sheer, crystal-embellished halter dress. She paired it with long black gloves and black heels. Underneath the see-through gown, the mother-of-four only wore nude nipple pasties and a black thong.
Wearing something this revealing is not typically her go-to. Many fans didn’t quite care for the look and felt the “Body Party” singer was trying too hard.
But the next day she responded to critics on TikTok by wearing bedsheets head to toe. She walked up to the camera, did a chuckle and walked away. In the caption, she wrote, “selective outrage.”
7. Janelle Monáe, 39

Janelle Monáe’s style could be described as eclectic and innovative; that’s a theme she’s carried with a lot of her outfits throughout her career. Her 2024 Met Gala outfit was no different except the singer bared a lot of skin with the look.
The custom Vera Wang gown was made of many holographic discs that started at her neck and trailed down to her bosom. The stream of disks continued from there to make a skirt with a small train. The ‘fit featured cutouts around her waist and shoulder area, giving it a touch of sexiness.
8. Summer Walker, 28

Summer Walker usually causes more ruckus with her music and love life than her fashion. But at the 2022 BET Awards, Walker hit the red carpet in an ensemble so bold that many weren’t feeling it.
She opted to go topless wearing nothing but a black and gold chain bra along with gold nipple covers. For bottoms, she wore a gold jeweled miniskirt with black heels. However, much of the public did not like or understand the outfit.
Walker later explained that the Laurel Street two-piece was inspired by traditional Hmong jewelry.
9. Saweetie, 31

Saweetie, like many female celebrities, loves to flaunt her curves. And she did just that in 2021 at the BET Awards. The rapper wore a beautiful purple and gold ensemble with cutouts around the waist area. The haltered Dolce and Gabanna dress also left a long train behind the California native.
Although the dress was stunning, Saweetie said it was not comfortable to walk in. During a live video she said, “I want to give a special shoutout to BET for having your girl today. First time I presented. I was a little nervous. I couldn’t walk in that dress though.”
10. Chloe Bailey, 26

Chloe Bailey sometimes gets a little pushback from fans for wearing pieces that are too risqué. But as her mentor Beyoncé once said, “If you got it flaunt it,” and that’s exactly what Bailey does! One of her more skin-baring red carpet looks took place in 2021 at the BET Awards.
She wore a mesh Valentino gown that had cutouts throughout the entire dress. Bailey donned black underwear underneath. She also styled her hair in an updo to draw all attention to the dress.
