In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Jan.12, Njoku revealed that her father had prepared a 20-question quiz to determine if her new boyfriend was truly “the one.”

The list included some rather personal inquiries, where Njoku’s dad delved into everything from her boyfriend’s professional background to sensitive details about his medical history. Among the probing questions were whether he had a family history of conditions like diabetes, blood disorders, sickle cell traits, sickle cell disease, or cancer. The concerned father also wanted to know if his daughter’s partner had fully cut ties with any exes, and if he had ever smoked or drank in the past.

Njoku told her followers that she was upset by the lengthy list.

“My dad sent me a 20-question pdf about my boyfriend that I have to answer before I can introduce them. Nigerian fathers,” the star, who has designed products for Walmart and Apple Music, wrote, attaching two angry face emojis along with her message.

Njoku shared only 11 of the questions, explaining that she had left out “some of the very very personal” ones. However, there were still a few questions that weren’t too intrusive, like asking what important personal experiences had shaped who he is today, and whether he made her feel “safe” and “supported.”

X users reacted to Njoku’s post.

As expected, social media users had plenty to say about the detailed questionnaire, with many supporting Njoku’s father. They argued that the Nigerian papa was simply fulfilling his role as a parent, making sure his daughter was with someone who was truly a good match for her.

“Your daddy loves you, girl!” wrote one user.

Another person on X penned, “These are very valid questions.”

Several users praised Njoku’s father for inquiring about her partner’s medical history including one social media goer who wrote, “Very important to know your partner’s medical history especially if you’re thinking long-term. He is a caring father looking out for his baby girl.”

Another supporter penned, “Cheers to your dad. Many parents these days believe their job ends at giving the children (especially girl child) education. I’m of the opinion that it’s still their responsibility to guide the children aright in selecting life partners. And your dad just gave you a head start!”

What do you think of Njoku’s father’s questionnaire? Was it spot on or a bit too much?
