Beauty influencer Golloria George commended Hailey Bieber for acting on her feedback and refining her beauty brand, Rhode, particularly in response to suggestions for better blush shades for darker skin tones.
In a video posted to TikTok on Sept. 1, George thanked Bieber for “listening” to her feedback and taking full “accountability” after she noticed some of the blushes created for customers with darker skin looked “ashy” and unappealing.
“She called me on the phone,” George wrote in the comments section of the post. “She didn’t dismiss my experience, she listened + made sure that I was compensated for shade consulting. Go go go Hailey.”
In her video captioned “bravo. our voice can elicit change. wonderfully done, thank you for listening to black women!” posted Monday, George tried the newly reformulated blush from Rhode and gushed about the product’s improvement since she posted her initial review on Aug. 5.
“This is exactly why I speak up,” she said, highlighting how the improved formula now looked so much better on her skin.
“You see how beautifully flushed I am without looking ashy,” the social media star continued. “This is why you advocate for yourself. You see what happens when you’re not complacent? And that’s what we call redemption.”
George also praised Bieber via her Instagram Stories, telling fans, “not only did she listen to black women, she also recognized the value of our time and energy.”
Golloria George called out Youthforia for their 600 foundation.
This isn’t the first time George has called out a beauty brand for their failure to uphold shade inclusivity. In April, the TikTok star called out Youthforia, a sustainable makeup brand, over its “600” foundation tailored to women and men with dark skin. In her video posted to TikTok April 30, the popular content creator slammed Youthforia, accusing the brand of creating a foundation reminiscent of black face paint, after they released their “600” shade.

To prove her point, George applied jet-black face paint on one half of her face and Youthforia’s foundation on the other, to show the similarities between the two.
“When we say that we want you guys to make shades for us, we don’t mean to go to the lab and ask for minstrel show black,” George complained in the short video that has garnered over 1 million likes on TikTok. “What we mean is to take the browns that you have made, create undertones and do what you need to do in the lab so it’s a darker shade of brown.”
It’s unclear whether Youthforia contacted George regarding her concerns about the product.
