Lady Gaga Admits to Cocaine Use a “Couple of Times a Year”
Surprise, surprise. The 24-year-old New Yorker who quickly found success with her techno album, “Fame Monster” and distinct sense of fashion, admitted to using drugs.
Although she’s not addicted, she said she’s “terrified of heroin” but still does “mostly cocaine.” And her occasional use is, “maybe a couple of times a year.”
The star, whose birth name is Stefani Germanotta, sat down with Vanity Fair and revealed the struggle she’s had with drugs in the past. At her lowest point her mother took her to her 82-year-old grandmother’s home in West Virginia to clean up. She said, ” I was completely mental and had just been through so much.” Her grandmother told her, “‘I’m gonna let you cry for a few more hours. And then after those few hours are up, you’re gonna stop crying, you’re gonna pick yourself up, you’re gonna go back to New York, and you’re gonna kick some a–!'”
Sometimes all it takes is a grandmother’s love and good kick in the pants to get better.
