He’s a good guy
Sure, he may not make a lot of money, but that doesn’t mean he can’t spoil you in other ways. Does he rub your feet after a long day? Does he cook you dinner? Change the oil in your car? A good man listens to you, puts family first, has a kind heard and a gentle spirit – and you can’t put a price tag on that.
His priorities are in order
There’s a difference between a guy who is financially strapped because he’s lazy or frivolous and one who has no money left because he actually pays his bills. A man who makes a great salary can also have a lot of debt because he’s too busy flossin’. A well paid man who mismanages his money is just as bad, if not worse, than a broke guy who appreciates the value of a dollar and spends his money wisely. I’d take a poor man who pays his bills on time and handles his business over a “hood rich” dude any day.
Come sit on mama lap
Some women date men with no money because they want to control him. These women don’t need a man to rescue them from a bad financial situation or to pay their bills, they just want companionship – so they try to “buy” a man. They feel that if they feed and clothe him, purchase him an Xbox and give him some pocket change, he won’t go anywhere. The power dynamic shifts and making more money gives these women a (false) sense of power and security. Be careful though, because money can’t always buy you love.
You see his potential
Your man has talent, ambition and drive and you believe he’s going to be the next best thing. So you hang in there waiting for him to sign that NFL contract, for his record deal to go through, to sell one of his paintings or to publish that best selling novel. Michelle saw something great in Barack, and you envision great things for your man one day too. You support him, even though he has nothing right now, because all of that hard work and sacrifice will pay off in the end as you build your lives together.

Good sex has kept many a man and woman in less than desirable relationships way longer than they should have, and a credit score may be the last thing on your mind if you’ve been turned out.
