After all the stories, conversations, arguments and commentaries over the film Red Tails, it finally came out last Friday. Hurray! There are a few reasons why you should check out the film if you haven’t already. Not only is it a great opportunity to learn more about our history through the big screen (which we don’t get to see often) and to appreciate the efforts and heroism of the Tuskegee Airmen; but it’s also a nice chance to see a cast full of HOT eye candy. Like, smoking. It was almost distracting at a point. But not the usual suspects (Cuba, Terrence and Method Man). These six men are another amazing reason to go check out Red Tails if you haven’t already. Or see it again. Don’t believe me? Flip on through!

Nate Parker as Martin “Easy” Julian

Damn, Damn, DAMN! *in my Florida Evans voice* This fella was the main one who was catching my attention during the film. Probably because of those lips, but also because of his VERY sculpted frame (homeboy used to be a wrestler in college). As their leader, I was loving the authoritativeness he was giving off, and the brotha simply looked luscious in his uniform.

David Oyelowo as Joe “Lightning” Little

Playing the very stubborn but oh-so-talented pilot “Lightning,” Brit actor David Oyelowo was like that annoying friend who doesn’t take heed of anything you say–but ten times hotter. Bravery on a man is always hot, while recklessness isn’t, but with Oyelowo doing both, I think I would fall for either.

Michael B. Jordan as Maurice “Bumps” Wilson

Another one of my favorites from The Wire (“Where’s Wallace!?”), Jordan was a newbie to the Tuskegee training program when we got to finally peep him on-screen, but his lusciousness had him standing out. He has this innocent and cute thing down pat in the film, but we all know in real life, Jordan is a stone-cold stud.

Leslie Odom, Jr. as Walter “Winky” Hall

Mr. Odom was a newbie to me as far as black Hollywood actors go, but he certainly was a nice surprise! Gotta love the eyes and the know-it-all but very deep attitude he was showing off in the movie. I think I’m not the only one who would have liked to see more…so here you go!
