As the founder of the skincare brand Nyakio, Nyakio Grieco recently chatted with Madame Noire about how her hydrating, revitalizing, smoothing, and anti-aging product collection can help women achieve youthful and radiant skin. With inspiration from the “beauty secrets she discovered through her family, friends, and world travels,” the brand’s formulas proudly incorporate Fair Trade Shea Butter with carefully selected globally sourced ingredients. Priding itself on its clean skincare offerings and no added fragrance — Grieco emphasized the importance Nyakio holds in “leaving out all of the bad stuff so that we only incorporate the good stuff for the best results” when it comes to “achieving glowing skin and combating aging.”

According to Grieco, the Sweet Almond Cleansing Oil Balm is enriched with “nourishing ‘sweet almonds’ from Spain” that leave one’s skin super glowy. Explaining her reasoning for creating the product, the entrepreneur said, “I am a big believer in double cleansing — which is a nod to K-Beauty. I love using this balm to melt off impurities while adding hydration.”
Additionally, for those who’ve never had a cleansing balm in their routine before, Grieco said that while “using a small amount that melts from balm to oil in your hands,” users should “gently remove dirt and impurities on the skin while applying the product in a deep cleansing motion so that it’s allowed to shine and glow after wiping it away.”

While discussing the benefits of the key ingredients in Nyakio’s products, Grieco shared that, “All of our fast-absorbing oils are high in unsaturated fatty acids, which help to condition the skin for a youthful and beautiful glow.” With that in mind, the founder suggested “lightly massaging three to five drops onto the face and neck, morning and night” in order to get the best results while using the oils in particular.
As a go-to product that gets down to business when it comes to rewinding the clock, she emphasized that the Manketti & Mafura Anti-Aging Oil “target the look of wrinkles, loss of firmness, dullness, and dehydration on skin.”

When it comes to the Marula & Neroli Brightening Oil, the entrepreneur explained that the product “has a rich history since the ingredients were used by women from Morocco to Mozambique for their skin-improving properties.” As she shared with us, marula oil is a rare treasure and often called “Africa’s Miracle Oil,” as it’s derived from the Marula tree which grows only in the sub-equatorial region of the continent.
According to Grieco, both marula and neroli are oils that are “rich in antioxidant Vitamin C which helps to brighten and protect the skin.”

“Maracuja & Yangu Rescue Oil is our hero product,” Grieco said proudly. As she explained, the oil targets sensitive areas and helps calm redness on the skin while also addressing areas of dryness. For many with mature skin, the product can also serve as a big relief to any patchiness, crepiness, and/or irritated areas that might arise.
In terms of how to use it for the best results, the founder recommended “using the oil twice a day to ensure that the two able to permeate the skin and create a gentle barrier while giving off the youthful look.”

Last but not least in the roundup, Grieco noted that the Baobab Youth-Infused Daily Defense Crème is “formulated with antioxidant-rich Baobab Oil.” Sourced from what is often referred to as the “African Tree of Life,” the entrepreneur said that due to its high levels of Vitamin A, E, and Omegas 3, 6, and 9 that the oil “helps defend skin against damaging free radicals.”
As per her suggestion, she says that the moisturizer can be used up to “twice a day on a cleansed face and neck” to restore the skin’s natural glow — and shared, “I love to cocktail some of my products together. For example, I like to add a drop or two of one of my oils into Daily Defense Crème to add even more hydration and anti-aging protection!”
