Normally, when we do these recaps, we have the most to say about Chris and Paige. And that’s the case today as well. But this week all of the couples had some drama–with the exception of Briana and Vincent. We’ll get into all of it on the following pages.
Ryan and Clara
I was shocked to see Clara moving things into Ryan’s home. It seemed like a big step for someone who seems so unsure about the fate of their relationship. Every time these two are together, her energy, his energy or both of their energy is just askew. They say the right things. But the words ring hollow.
Clara is so concerned about the lack of physical connection in their relationship but honestly, it doesn’t seem that her emotions even dictate the need for that at this point.

And then in the confessional, she outright said that she doesn’t know what she’s going to say on decision day. Like sis, it’s not just the sex that’s lacking. I don’t know if these two are just awkward on camera. But something is lagging.
Clara, who admittedly falls in love quickly, said that she shares a companion type of love for Ryan. She’s not there after four weeks; still, for some reason she thought Ryan was going to tell her he loved her on their one-month anniversary when he’s had two-year relationships that didn’t inspire that feeling. Sigh. I was holding out hope for these two for a while. But I don’t see it right now. They may make it past decision day but I don’t know if this is a long term marriage.
Erik and Virginia
I can’t stand the way Erik talks to Virginia. He’s always trying to flex or assert his experience over her. Still, I can understand his concerns about her not wanting to move in. Not living with your spouse doesn’t exactly breed closeness and intimacy. And he is right selling a house is an ordeal. But he could have handled that conversation and his fear better. He swears he has so much experience in relationships but his solution to every problem that arises is ending the marriage.
Haley and Jacob
I think Haley invited her tarot card reader over so her thoughts about the marriage could be confirmed. She wanted that lady to tell her it wasn’t going to work. So when she learned that they were actually a fit, she seemed not only surprised by perturbed. But that tarot lady was right, both of them try to control the flow of the relationship and it’s made it tense.
What was supposed to be a sweet moment, looking at their wedding pictures turned into something entirely different. Jacob realized that from the wedding day, Haley wasn’t into him. And instead of pretending for the sake of the day, he told the truth. And called her out on her bs in the process. She doesn’t like him and she’s just not willing to admit it.
The connection he thought they had was not real to her. She was pretending. And he said outright that she looks past him. Which would be hurtful to anyone. For whatever reason, Haley wants to keep pretending like there’s a chance for them. And there’s not. And instead of saying that, she’s dragging an inevitable truth. She can’t even manage to give him a hug…like c’mon love. He had to tell her straight up, while eating his steak, you won’t have to see me after these four weeks.
Briana and Vincent
Once again, the only couple we’re absolutely sure about is Briana and Vincent. They’re definitely going to make it, despite Vincent’s tantrums earlier in the season. And thankfully, he knows he’s been out of pocket. I peeped the way he told Briana that he’s happy she hasn’t run away yet. Facts.
Paige and Chris
For some reason, Paige is just now getting around to asking Chris about his first engagement at 20-years-old. I thought it was very interesting to hear Paige tell the girls that it was difficult for her to separate getting to know him given everything she already knows about him. I loved that sis finally seems to be coming to the realization that she was more in love with the idea of being married and not so concerned with the man to whom she was married.
Even in a lighter moment for these two, when it seemed like they might be able to get along with one another, the only complimentary thing Chris could find to say about her was something related to her body. Like bruh. Just save it.
I kept wishing and hoping, thinking and praying that Paige would be the one to walk away from Chris. But that’s not how the cookie crumbled. Everything was all fun and games until she asked him to take accountability for not being consistent in his communication. He found a way to turn it around to Paige not answering her phone–as if he had a habit of calling with good news. Thank God she told him that he doesn’t have anything to say.
The best thing Paige said was, “It is okay to choose yourself.” Yes, sis. That’s it.
