T.I. misogyny

T.I. is up to no good again. In a clip from his ExpediTIously podcast, the rapper once again showed he completely doesn’t understand women or how they work

In the clip, which was just a featured portion of a longer video where the rapper chats to three Black women about more of his thoughts on “marriage, sex, and parental guidance,” T.I. says that women are only attracted to men because of their playa energy. According to his logic, “misogyny” is what draws women in.

“The women out there who say they want a man who ain’t got not b*tches, dem women ain’t really want a man who ain’t got no b*tches. Just think about a man who ain’t got no b*tches and that energy, and how that is, and how that feels, and what it looks like. That’s what attracts you to that n*gga, cause he have b*tches, that energy. That ‘misogyny,’ you speak so poorly of,” the rapper said with a mocking tone towards the end.

“That sh*t provides a vibe that you are obviously attracted to,” he continued. “It puts out pheromones, you understand me? And them pheromones cause you to be attracted. And I’m not saying that it’s right to be this way or that it’s wrong to be this way, I’m just saying the fact that it is this way. I’m not trying to excuse, merely explain.”

Obviously, it is “wrong” to think that way, in addition to being just plainly inaccurate. After the years and years of T.I. saying problematic things to and about women, we put together a short list of some of the rapper’s other noteworthy hot takes when it came to his life’s approach concerning the other sex.

1.) Hymen-gate

Back in late 2019, T.I. revealed that he had been joining his daughter Deyjah on trips the gynecologist every year to make sure her hymen was still intact. Obviously being very misinformed and someone with no regard for his daughter’s privacy and boundaries, T.I. said he and his daughter went through the routine so that he could ensure she was still a virgin.

The news went viral over social media and T.I. later went on Jada Pinkett Smith’s Facebook series Red Table Talk, to say he was being unfairly judged for doing everything in his power to protect his daughter.

“In order to guide and direct, you have to have a certain level of control,” the rapper said. “In the age when Black women are the most unprotected, unattended, disregarded women on the planet. I’m being criticized because I’m going above and beyond because I’m willing to protect mine. The slimy, grimy, chubby little fingered little boys who want to come in and defile the sanctity… Anything that is the most important thing in my life, I’m going to handle that with extreme care.”

2.) Mom Shaming Tiny, Then Threatening To Get Her Xscape Tour “Shut Down”

Back in early 2017, T.I. initially made it seem as though Tiny couldn’t go on tour with her ’90s girl group Xscape because he didn’t want her to take their daughter Heiress along. In a heated clip from Family Hustle, when Tiny said she couldn’t be away from Heiress while on tour the rapper told her, “Well you need to stay home then — you need to stay here. That’s a sacrifice you make as a parent.”

“Life on the road is no place for no damn baby,” T.I. told Tiny. “It’s best for her to be in a stable place where she can wake up at a certain time, eat at a certain time, play at a certain time, go to bed at a certain time. You grown, you can do what you want to do. You’re a working woman, you can make any kind of decision you want. That baby is innocent. I’m telling you, you don’t want no trouble out of me now, I’ll shut the whole thing down.”

3.) Still Being Controlling Towards Tiny, Even When They Were Estranged

Even though the couple was separated at the time, and facing a potential divorce, T.I. got on Instagram to publically embarrass Tiny and encourage her and Tamar Braxton to clear away their issues.

If you didn’t know, in addition to Tamar and Tiny being close friends, Tiny is also the god-mother to Tamar’s son Logan. Even though Tiny and Tamar were beefing at the time and not speaking, in an attempt to keep their children out of it, Tiny took to social media to wish Logan a happy birthday when his first birthday rolled around back in 2017.

Instead of just minding his business and leaving his estranged wife and her friendships alone, T.I. left a comment under the sweet Instagram post telling Tiny and Tamar to get over their “diva sh*t”

“Happy Gday Logan!!!!Growing up into a real polished young gentleman,” he wrote. “Aight @majorgirl & @tamarbraxton now y’all both get off y’all diva sh*t & get on ya god mama sh*t. Y’all too d*mned grown for this sh*t now!!!!”

4.) Telling Tiny She Can’t Have a Voice Unless She Knows “How To Use That Voice” On Red Table Talk

“It’s not about your voice,” the rapper said about her speaking up for herself in their marriage. “Go out there and get your voice and it can be as loud as you want it to be. However, you must know how to use that voice. Now, the fact that you may have muted yourself, you could have always said whatever it is you wanted to say, even if it led to me saying, ‘You know what this ain’t for me.’ That is the decision and a sacrifice that a woman must be willing to make for that voice. I never told you, you couldn’t say. I had my list of how I wanted things to go. When you were not okay with it anymore, which is understandable, you changed your mind. I went to prison, that caused you to explore different parts of your voice. You can’t use your voice to go against me. We’re supposed to be together. And that to me, maybe it was because it was so new to you, maybe you hadn’t learned how to control it yet.”

5) Having A “The Boys Could Just Do Whatever” Mentality

Just last year, while speaking with The Hollywood Life, Zonnique Pullins said she felt T.I., her stepfather, was really overbearing when it came to who the female children of their household were dating, but he didn’t hold the boys and their romantic lives to the same level of scrutiny.

“Now that I’m a little older it’s gotten a little better for me,” she said. Speaking on T.I.’s parenting style she added, “but he is definitely super overprotective… I just hope that Heiress doesn’t get it is as bad as me and Deyjah. I always think that, like Heiress is going to have it the worst.”

“Since we were all younger he’s always been super protective over the girls,” she continued. “And it always seemed like the boys could just do whatever. My mom will always argue, like, you don’t care that the boys go on dates, you let their girlfriends come over. You know we meet their girlfriends. It’s all cool it’s like a regular thing. But you know, if I’m in a relationship and I bring my boyfriend over, the whole family has to talk to him. He has to go outside with pops and have these hour-long conversations.”

6.) The Time He Said He Couldn’t Vote For Hillary Clinton Because “Women Make Rash Decisions Emotionally”

Back in 2015, in a radio interview with DJ Whoo Kid, T.I. said he wouldn’t be casting a ballot for Hillary Clinton during her run for president because he didn’t think people were ready to accept a woman as a “leader of the free world.” In addition to vocalizing tired and harmful stereotypes about women’s abilities to perform in high-level leadership roles, he mentioned that a mythical creature might be more electable than a woman for the presidential role.

“Not to be sexist but,” he ironically began, “I can’t vote for the leader of the free world to be a woman. Just because, every other position that exists, I think a woman could do well. But the president? It’s kinda like, I just know that women make rash decisions emotionally. They make very permanent, cemented decisions – and then later, it’s kind of like it didn’t happen, or they didn’t mean for it to happen. And I sure would hate to just set off a nuke. [Other world leaders won’t be able to negotiate] foreign policy; the world ain’t ready yet. I think you might be able to the Lochness Monster elected before you could [get a woman elected].”

That same day, after getting dragged, the rapper posted this on his Twitter:

7.) Distancing Himself From Iggy Azalea After She Was No Longer Profitable To Him

In 2019, rapper Iggy Azalea made headlines when she called T.I. a misogynist following the Family Hustle star saying his association with the Australian MC was a “blunder.” Also referring to her as a “tarnish to his legacy,” after capitalizing off of Azalea’s look and sound when she was relevant, T.I. distanced himself from her over the span of several years.

“Imagine thinking I was his biggest blunder lmaoooooooooooooo,” The “Fancy” rapper said in a series of now-deleted tweets. “Tip. Sweetie. We have a whole list for you.”

“The tea I could spill on what bullsh*t this is,” she continued. “But at the end of the day, I think people can see it’s clear he’s salty. He’s a huge misogynist and has never been able to have a conversation with any woman in which he doesn’t speak like a fortune cookie.”

When Azalea first came onto the scene, T.I. took the Australian performer under his wing to help her transition into the American rap game. Even though a few of Azalea’s hits proved to be very successful, a various number of factors prevented her from being liked by audiences in a long-term way.

8.) When He Took Jabs At Donald Trump By Disrespecting His Wife

https://twitter.com/Tip/status/1050912269553594368

In 2018, as a way to take jabs at former president Donald Trump during his time in office, T.I. shot a short video that featured a Melania Trump look-alike giving the rapper a strip-tease.

In the ridiculous video, after an announcer said the first lady didn’t accompany Trump to Mar-a-Lago that weekend, T.I. is then seen sitting in what looks to be a duplicate of the Oval Office, where the fake Melania then walks in wearing nothing but a tiny blazer that reads “Do you think I really care?” on the back. ”

Implying that when the president was away, Melania was down to play, the look-alike was then seen naked, dancing for T.I. and pulling him in closer to her by the length of his tie.

T.I. captioned the video “Dear 45, I ain’t Kanye. 😳 ”

9.) Calling Spending Time With His Daughters “Thot Prevention Hours”

While chatting with fellow rapper 21 Savage late last year on his ExpediTIously podcast, T.I. tried to share some parenting wisdom and completely said what nobody wanted to hear, as he often does.

“Lil Duval call it ‘thot prevention hours,’ you’ve got to put in them thot prevention hours,” the rapper said. “Keep your daughter off the pole! You know what I’m saying? You’re spending time, going to daddy-daughter dances, taking them on trips where it’s just you and her, those are thot prevention hours that you are putting in. You got to do that, if you don’t do that, you’re going to be somewhere at Magic City man, you know what I’m saying? Trying to figure it out. So, that is absolutely necessary, for any father…”
