In a few days we will be welcoming the year 2021 and saying farewell to one of the most controversial, stressful years many of us have ever experienced! Between dealing with a global pandemic that led to a major national lockdown, a four-day presidential election, losing some beloved celebrities and a devastated economy, 2020 has a been quite the disaster. So while celebrating the arrival of the  New Year, why not sip on a festive cocktail to help compliment your holiday spirit. Here’s five recipes for holiday cocktails from Bittertales, Absolut, Captain Morgan and Babe Wine.

BITTER HOT TODDY 

BITTERTALES HOT TODDY

INGREDIENTS:

  •  BITTERTALES Aromatic Bitters (.25oz)
  • Orange Zest And Grated Nutmeg (1 oz)
  • Heavy Cream (1.5oz)
  • Lemon Juice (1 tsp)
  • Honey Syrup (.25oz)
  • Hot Fresh Brewed Deep Roast Barley Tea (6.5oz)

METHOD:

  • Combine Bitters and Heavy Cream into cocktail shaker without any ice. Shake vigorously until the mixture becomes creamy, but so that it can still be poured. After pouring tea, honey, and lemon juice into warm mug, slowly pour whipped cream over the back of spoon and float on top. Use zester to grate orange peel and nutmeg on top. Served Warm.

GARNISH:

  • Orange Zest and Grated Nutmeg

GLASS:

  •  Mug

CORNUCOPIA     

BITTERTALES CORNUCOPIA

INGREDIENTS:

  • BITTERTALES Aromatic Bitters (4-5 dashes)
  • Fresh Lemon Juice (.5oz)
  •  Medium Sherry (.5oz)
  • Spiced Simple Syrup (.5oz)**
  • Fresh Apple Juice or Cider (1oz)
  • Whisk(E)Y (1.5oz)
  • Sparkling Water (1.5oz)

METHOD:

  • Combine all ingredients except bitters and sparkling water, add ice, and shake. Strain ingredients into highball glass with ice. Top with bitters, then add soda water to top, creating aromatic foam. Add fanned apple slices and serve.

GARNISH:

  • Apple Fan

GLASS:

  • Highball

**RECIPE FOR SPICED SIMPLE SYRUP

 INGREDIENTS:

  • Evaporated Cane Sugar (10oz)
  • Heated Filtered Water (10oz)
  • Cinnamon Stick
  • 3 Allspice Berries
  • 3 Star Anise
  • 4 Black Peppercorns

METHOD:

  • Crack (not crush) all spices and add to saucepan over medium heat. Toast for 5 minutes until aromatic, then add water. Bring to just below boiling temp and add sugar. Mix until sugar is fully incorporated, then strain off spices and set aside to cool. Refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.

Captain Morgan Cranberry Mule

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1.5 oz. Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum
  • 0.5 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
  • 2 oz. Cranberry Juice
  • 6 oz. Ginger Ale
  • Rosemary Sprig and Fresh Cranberries

METHOD:

  •  Combine Rum, lime juice, and cranberry juice in an ice-filled highball glass. Top with ginger ale. Garnish with rosemary and cranberries.

Absolut Jingle Buck

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 Part Absolut Vodka
  • ¾ Parts Cranberry Juice
  • ¾ Parts Lime Juice
  • 2 Parts Ginger Ale

METHOD:

  • Add all ingredients into a glass filled with ice. Stir briefly. Garnish with two fresh cranberries and one rosemary sprig

WINTER BABE-GRIA

INGREDIENTS:

  • 4-PACK BABE RED
  • 1 cup brandy
  • 2 Oz triple sec
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  •  ½ cup apple Cider
  • 1 chopped apple
  • 1 chopped orange
  • Cinnamon sticks

METHOD:

  • Add chopped apples, chopped oranges, and ground spices to a large pitcher. Pour in brandy, 2 oz triple sec, and apple cider. Stir.
  • Cover, and let sit overnight in the fridge for 5 – 12 hours.
  • Pour in 3 to 4 cans of Sparkling BABE red.
  • Garnish with cinnamon sticks, and serve cold.
