Being an expectant mother at any time is exciting, but it can also be incredibly stressful. You have to prepare yourself to not only carry new life but also prepare yourself for all the work that will come when your baby is born and how your life will change. However, there is an added layer of worry that comes with being pregnant during a pandemic. You have to do your best to try and stay healthy with a compromised immune system. The functions that would usually take place to celebrate this major milestone in life aren’t safe to throw (gender reveals and baby showers). Family and friends who would support you after delivery in this current time will no longer be allowed to visit you at the hospital. The whole experience can have quite the impact on your emotions and even the way you feel physically. I can attest to that from my own experience of delivering my first child in the spring, early in this coronavirus saga.
But one thing that will make any mom-to-be feel good during this time is thoughtful gift — and not just one that’s solely for the baby cooking in her belly. So to help women carrying children during the pandemic pamper themselves, we came up with a few gifts we’re sure they’ll benefit from, physically and emotionally.

Evereden Mama to Be Skin Essentials – $99
A woman’s skin from head to toe can either glow in ways it never has during pregnancy, or it can go absolutely through it due to the hormone spike and stretching. Alleviate stressed skin with help from the brand Evereden’s skin essentials kit for a mama-to-be. The essentials include a belly mask both for the first and second trimesters, as well as the second and third. It also comes with a stretch mark cream that improves skin elasticity and a healing balm that can cure everything from chafed nipples to simple dry hands. Every product is hydrating, and per their uses, safe for new moms.

Glammed Naturally Oil – $22.99
Help your loved one get an early start on trying to keep their edges, because there is a good chance that they will be snatched due to a hormone level dip after she delivers. Your strands make up for lost time after shedding less during pregnancy, and the clumps that can fall out after the fact can make anyone feel self-conscious. The woman behind the 100 percent organic Glammed Naturally Oil, Jummie Ogunyemi, created the line after her own intense experience with postpartum hair loss. The product is a winner because it can help thicken hair and also prevent breakage thanks to ingredients including castor seed, jojoba, extra virgin olive, rosemary, sesame and tea tree oil.

Storq Signature Leggings – $65
If there’s anybody who needs to sit down and take it easy right now, it’s pregnant women. Help your loved one relax comfortably with my very favorite leggings from Storq, the Signature Leggings. They stretch wonderfully, so they’re never tight on your bump. They are light without being thin, and they stay in place for extra comfort. They are a softer, cozier version of everyone’s go-to legging, and can still be worn to perfection long after baby is born. Trust me when I say that your pregnant sister, friend, cousin, whomever, will love and appreciate both the leggings and you for buying them.

Madame Lemy Luxury Deodorant Minis Collection – $54
Help the expectant mom in your life feel extra fancy and smell amazing with the help of Madame Lemy’s powder deodorants. If you swore off baby powder due to all the drama with Johnson & Johnson, you’ll be glad to know that Madame Lemy’s deodorant powder is hypoallergenic, vegan, free of aluminum as well as free of parabens, phthalates, artificial ingredients and any other funky things you don’t need to expose your body to — especially when pregnant. The powders are pure and safe for all. Also, they smell lovely, coming in scents like lemon, lavender, rose and lime. Gift a mom-to-be the minis collection (available December 14), or just introduce them to one full-size scent for $35.

Ritual Prenatal Vitamins – $35/Month
If there’s one thing an expectant mom absolutely needs to feel her best and to ensure her baby is healthy, it’s prenatal vitamins. A great option in prenatals is the Ritual brand’s, which are sent monthly for $35. The vitamins are made up of folate, omega-3 DHA, vitamin B12, choline, iodine, biotin, vitamin D, iron, boron, vitamin E, vitamin K2 and magnesium. The capsules are designed to keep moms-to-be from being nauseous while taking them, and as an added perk, the vitamins have a citrus “essence” to them. These pills are good on the tummy and good for you and baby.
