The decision to end a marriage/relationship is difficult on it’s own, let alone with a baby on the way. Dual parenthood is usually expected once a child is born, but sadly these celebrities decided to divorce before their little ones came into the world.

1. Kelly Rutherford and Daniel Giersch
“Gossip Girl” star Kelly Rutherford and Daniel Giersch were married for two years before she filed for divorce in January 2009. She was three months pregnant at the time with their second child. Rutherford gave birth to her second child, Helena Grace, on June 8. She described that when she found out she was pregnant, she thought a new baby might be just what they needed to save their already faltering marriage. “I found out I was pregnant, and I thought, oh, maybe things will be nice, maybe it will be calm,” says Kelly. “But it wasn’t. Things only got more intense.”
2. Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen
Denise Richards and former “Two and a Half Men” star Charlie Sheen were married for three years before Richards filed for divorce in March 2005. She was six months pregnant with their second child at the time. Richards gave birth to Lola, In New York City in June 2005.
3. Kelis and Nas
Kelis and rapper Nas were married for nearly seven years before the hip-hop songstress filed for divorce in April 2009. She was seven months pregnant at the time. Kelis gave birth to a baby boy, whom she named Knight, in New York City on July 2011.Nas was reportedly not allowed to be present at the birth of his son, as he was still involved in a bitter divorce with estranged wife Kelis.
4. Christina Milian and The Dream
Christina Milian and record producer The Dream were together for 10 months before he filed for divorce from the R&B singer in July 2010, claiming the marriage was “irretrievably broken.” Milian gave birth to their daughter nine days later. Milian delivered her baby girl in February of 2010 and named her bundle of joy Violet Madison Nash.
5. Weston Cage and Nikki Williams
Weston Cage, son of actor Nicholas Cage, was married to Nikki Williams for two months before he decided to call it quits for the first time in July 2011 on Facebook. In the same Facebook post, Nicolas Cage’s son outed her pregnancy and defended himself against previous abuse allegations: “I would never hit my wife, why would I start abusing after she was positive after taking a pregnancy test?” They stay married for another four months before he officially filed for divorce in October 2011.
6. Ginny Cha and Tiki Barber
American football running back Tiki Barber and Ginny Cha were married for 11 years before he reportedly left her for 23-year-old former NBC intern Traci Lynn Johnson, and the family’s babysitter, in April, 2010. Cha was eight months pregnant at the time. When Ginny was in the hospital in March 2010 to give birth to their baby, the football great was reportedly banned from the delivery room. “They are still in court over money and over custody. He did see the baby girls after they were born, as Ginny understands he needs to be a huge part of their lives, and she wants to make sure they are taken care of.”
7. Kari Ann Peniche and Justin Williams
“Celeb Rehab” star Kari Ann Peniche was married to Justin Williams for only four months before he filed for divorce in July 2011 while she was pregnant. Williams asked the judge for genetic testing because he was unsure if the child was his. Peniche has been the subject of several celebrity gossip stories, including a brief engagement to singer Aaron Carter, a quarrel with singer Mindy McCready, and the leak of a controversial home video including actors Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart.
