After it was confirmed that Floyd Mayweather‘s daughter Iyanna is expecting her first child with rapper NBA YoungBoy Never Broke Again (his sixth), the 20-year-old celebrated her little one on the way with a baby shower.
Iyanna is having a boy, which is obvious from the blue decor all over the place, down to her Bottega Veneta slides. The party was put together by her mother, Melissia Brim, and there was plenty of dancing, sweet treats, and food (guests had to choose between fried chicken or fried catfish among other Southern-inspired fare). And while it’s unclear if the father of Iyanna’s unborn son was present, or even her own famous father, she seemed to have a great time based on the photos and video of her doing the Electric Slide posted from the event.

Floyd is the one who set the record straight about Iyanna’s pregnancy during a recent interview with Hollywood Unlocked.
“I just want the best for my daughter,” he said. “Always want the best. If that makes her happy, then we’re happy. Me and her mother is happy.”
“But what I try not to do is get into her personal business,” he added. “Because once she’s no longer under my roof then, you know what? It’s between her and her better half.”
Her relationship with NBA YoungBoy, born Kentrell Gaulden, has been a volatile one, particularly when it comes to other women in his life. Iyanna was arrested in April for stabbing a woman, reportedly the mother of one of Gaulden’s children, who was present in the rapper’s Houston home. The women got into an argument that turned physical and she was charged with felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. But even after the incident, which one might have thought she’d use as a reason to distance herself from her on-again, off-again beau, Iyanna was spotted back with him, lying in his bed in fact.
She has made her feelings for him very clear on social media.
“I don’t care what Y’all say,” she said in an Instagram Live in 2019. “Kentrell got my heart, and I don’t care what y’all say. Y’all can say ‘you’re embarrassing yourself’ or whatever.”
It’s unclear when the baby is due, but it’s time for the famous daughter to grow up fast. It wasn’t that long ago that she was just a kid herself growing up in front of our eyes as her dad dominated the boxing world. Soon after her father’s victory against Oscar De La Hoya in 2007, 6-year-old Iyanna was photographed at a press conference to discuss the win. She was held by her father’s former friend, now on-again, off-again foe, rapper 50 Cent.

After Iyanna was arrested for attacking the mother of one of NBA YoungBoy’s kids, her famous father received a lot of criticism for how he was raising his children. He responded by saying, “Never claimed to be perfect, but I strive to be the best father possible.”

Before she was rocking Birkin bags courtesy of her father, Iyanna was carrying around a backpack just like most kids. (For the record though, this one was Gucci…)
She has been one to question the authenticity of the Birkin bags that are being spotted more and more, and she doesn’t care if it ruffles feathers.
“I really want to comment on this whole ‘Birkin topic’ but I’ma just sit this one out because I don’t want to have some of y’all in a frenzy,” she said. “Just know when you speaking Birkins you speaking Iyanna Mayweather, and if you feel otherwise let’s argue.”

As previously mentioned, Iyanna has professed her love for on-again, off-again boyfriend NBA YoungBoy on more than one occasion.
“People listen to this I don’t care who wants me, who want me bad, only one person got my heart, and that’s Kentrell motherf–kin’ Gaulden,” she said in an Instagram Live video in 2019. “That’s the only person who got me. He can have my heart all day.”

Iyanna’s mom is entrepreneur Melissia Brim. She has spoken about the work she’s done to make her own money, but has had to deal with people always assuming she has what she has because she had Floyd’s daughter.
“Whenever I go places, I’m Floyd Mayweather’s baby mama,” she told OZY in 2017. Sure, I don’t have to worry about a lot of things, but it’s a curse because I’m my own person looking to make my own path. I’d love to go places and not be attached to him. I’m Melissia Brim.”

In that same interview, Melissia spoke confidently about her hopes for her daughter. She said Iyanna would eventually take over Mayweather Promotions.
“Being in boxing was never for me, but it runs in my daughter’s blood,” she said. “Iyanna may not have to work, but she wants to. Mark my words, she will be the CEO of Mayweather Promotions. She’s learned so much about the boxing business from her father and how to be an independent woman from me that she’s already making plans to take over the company. It’s going to happen, I guarantee it.”

As previously stated, Iyanna and NBA YoungBoy have had a dramatic relationship. She was at one point accused of slashing the tires to his Maybach, something which she denied. But that hasn’t stopped her from going back and forth with the rapper. She is aware of the criticism she’s received because of that.
“Y’all daddies done did y’all mamas way worse and they still had y’all raggedy a–ses so mind ya bidness when it come to me & mine,” she said in an Instagram Story to her critics.

NBA YoungBoy actually wrote a song inspired by Iyanna, but not necessarily a lovey-dovey one. The track was called “Dirty Iyanna.” In it, he mentioned that whole slashing of the tires allegation.

It’s unclear at this point where things stand between the mother and father-to-be, as he’s been spotted with another woman in the last few months and, again, it wasn’t confirmed whether or not he was at the baby shower (his name was present on the cake, though!). However, back in August, Iyanna reminded everyone where she stands when it comes to her love for NBA YoungBoy.
“I only talk to Kentrell,” she wrote. “I only want Kentrell.”
