Whether you sent in a mail-in ballot, voted early or waited in line today, this is it. This is the last chance we will all have to make our votes count and our voices heard in this presidential election. This particular election is especially important when you think of everything that’s at stake, and that’s why some people, those who never thought it essential in the past, and those who are just obtaining the ability to vote, are going all out. There are a number of people who are voting for president for the first time, and they’re not just the late teens and young twentysomethings. Hit the flip to see which celebrities are a part of that group.

Skai Jackson

Actress and current Dancing With the Stars contestant Skai Jackson just turned 18 this year, but she hasn’t wasted any time in encouraging other people to get out and vote.

“Today is THE day!” she wrote on Instagram on Tuesday. “Please get out and vote if you haven’t already! It’s super important for all of us to use our right to vote!”

She also talked about her experience voting for the first time in an interview with HypeBae.com.

“As a first time voter I have learned that you really have to do your research about who you are voting for,” she said. “I want someone who wants the best for America, and who is actually educated on the matters – unlike our current president. I really love to watch the debates to really understand what our future president would do for the world and our country.”

Willow Smith

While she didn’t say anything about her voting experience, Willow Smith‘s famous father Will Smith shared that it’s the 20-year-old’s (who just had a birthday on Halloween) first trip to the ballot box. He used that information to encourage his native home state (and battleground state) of Pennsylvania to get out and vote.

“This is Willow’s first presidential election – it’s my Mom’s 16th… And this one may all come down to my home – Pennsylvania,” he wrote. “So I want to ask all my people in PA – tomorrow, SHOW UP! Show up like we did on Broad street for the Eagles and the Sixers. Get to the polls and make it a party! Head to the link in my bio to find out more about how to make SURE your voice is heard.
LET’S GOOOOOOO!!!!”

Snoop Dogg

After not voting in the past due to misconceptions about felony convictions, Snoop Dogg, 49, said once he realized he could vote, nothing could hold him back from doing so for this presidential election.

“For many years they had me brainwashed thinking that you couldn’t vote because you had a criminal record,” he told Big Boy’s Neighborhood. “I didn’t know that. My record’s been expunged so now I can vote. … I ain’t never voted a day in my life, but this year I think I’m going to get out and vote because I can’t stand to see this punk in office one more year.”

Yara Shahidi

Actress Yara Shahidi, 20, has voted before (which isn’t a surprise because she’s been something of an outspoken activist), but this is her first presidential election. She launched an initiative called “The Clock Is Ticking” to encourage others to make their voices heard. The star and her family also planned out and successfully executed an in-person early voting day.

“Our ballots may not provide the perfect solution, but they should always be used as a tool working ALONGSIDE/SUPPORTING the civic action we must take 365 days a year… and THIS upcoming election is no different!” she said back in September.

Offset

Another individual who was told he couldn’t vote because of past convictions, Offset, 28 placed his first vote during Georgia’s primary during the summer. He said in an Instagram video, “I just voted, my first time, 28 years old. I got past my record and my past history, and I’m able to vote.” He’s been working ever since to get people with similar experiences, and everyone else capable of voting, to do just that.

“For many, the right to vote has been hard-fought or hidden from some of us,” he wrote in October. “It is critical that we all use this right to stand up for what we believe in.”

Shaq

Shaquille O’Neal, 48, revealed on his podcast that he popped his voting cherry in the presidential election, saying, “I voted for the first time, and it feels good.” He cast an absentee ballot in the race for the White House, and when asked about who he was voting for, Shaq would later say that he wasn’t publicly endorsing anybody. Either way though, he wanted to practice what he preaches.

“You know I always like being honest on my podcast. I’ve never voted before, America,” he said. “But now I’m doing all these voting campaigns, and you know one thing I never like to do is be a hypocrite.”
