Scottie says Eff You, Pay Me
Let me tread very lightly here before he comes after my lint filled pockets. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, former NBA player Scottie Pippen is suing media outlets for $9 million for defamation, false light and negligence after reporting that he was bankrupt. Scottie’s lawsuit claims that his net worth has not gone under $40 million in the last 10 years. He’s going after the big companies like CBS and General Electric but just to be on the safe side, I’ll leave it at that.
Deion and Pilar Officially Call it Quits
Well, after much speculation on whether or not this was really happening, Deion Sanders and his wife Pilar are divorcing after 11 years of marriage. “Primetime” took to his Facebook page to officially announce that he and Pilar have decided to go on with their individual lives with “mutual respect.” They share three children. DMX and Tashera Head to the small screen
Oh dear, here comes the real train wreck. VIBE has confirmed that rapper DMX and Tashera (his wife or ex-wife, I’m not sure) will be featured on VH1’s “Couples Therapy” which will air in the spring. According to DMX’s publicist Domenick, “Tashera has been there from the beginning and means a lot to X.”
Tyler’s ready to get married?
Well, well…well. There are reports surfacing that Tyler Perry and his lady friend, Gelila Bekele are talking about marriage. Her friends say they’re looking at locations and rings and all things wedding-y. My mind is telling me to type what you’re all thinking but I’ll just say: let’s wait and see what happens.
Rihanna & the Racist
Rih is slowly rapping up her European tour but not without someone coming out of their face to her. While at her hotel in Portugal, a non-Black man told her that he thought Black women were dogs and sluts and didn’t deserve to be in the same hotel as them. Rihanna says she fired back her own “pleasantries” and then told her followers, “…to be honest, a lil black wouldn’t hurt him.” Well, alright then! Check out Rih’s Twitter page.
Rest In Peace, Slim Dunkin
Depending on where you are in the world, you might not be too familiar with Slim Dunkin but in the South he was becoming well known for his affiliation with rapper Waka Flocka. Sadly, his life was cut short when he was gunned down in an Atlanta music studio. Our prayers are with his family.
Another goodbye
We also send our condolences to the family of Grammy winning, Cape Verdean singer Cesaria Evoria who died at age 70 in a hospital of her native, Cape Verde, on Saturday. She was known as the Barefoot Diva because she always performed with her shoes off. Although she had many health problems, including a stroke in both 2008 and 2011, the immediate cause of death is not known. She is survived by two children.
