It is possible for two people who were once in a relationship and welcomed a child to not only successfully co-parent, but to also be genuinely supportive and loving friends to one another. Cynthia Bailey and ex-boyfriend Leon Robinson have found that, so it was not a shock that she would invite him to her wedding to Mike Hill this past Saturday. When The Five Heartbeats actor couldn’t make it, he sent a public message to Bailey via Instagram. The usually private star kindly reminded her that just as she’d been amazing at so many things in life, she was going to be amazing at being a wife to Hill.

“Cynthia, you’ve been a super model, a super mom to our beautiful Noelle, and now, today, you start the first day of being a super wife to Mike Hill,” he said while staring in the camera. “I congratulate you both.”

“I’m sorry I couldn’t be there but I’m filming out of the country. But I’m there in spirit and in love through our daughter Noelle,” he added. “I wish you all the best. I’m really happy for you. Much love.”

The 58-year-old actor ended his video message with a wink and a smile. It was all smooth AF, honestly.

Robinson’s followers commended him for the encouragement he was sending Bailey’s way.

“He’s been her rock and best friend and her cheer [sic] leader from day one,” someone commented. “I love the relationship they have.”

“Soooo beautiful,” said another. “You are the PERFECT example of successful Co-parenting. Noel and Cynthia are lucky to have you in their lives.”

And someone else simply said, “This just sexy.”

Robinson told us during an interview earlier this year that when it comes to Hill, he was a fan, so much so that he didn’t have a problem with daughter Noelle staying with Bailey’s beau in Los Angeles.

“I thought her move to California was a move she wanted to make. I thought it was great that she had the convenience of Mike’s place to be able to stay there, especially on a temporary basis until she figured things out and could see what California is about and see if she wanted to be there,” he said. “I thought it was fantastic because it was going to be a place where her mother was going to be all of the time.”

And he and Bailey have confided in each other over the years, on-screen (through his brief appearances on The Real Housewives of Atlanta) and off.

“Leon has always been very supportive of me, and anything that involves my happiness,” she said in 2016. “Not only is he Noelle’s dad, he is my friend. I can always depend on his love and support.”

We love it. While we’re very happy for #CHill, hit the flip to walk down memory lane and see photos of exes, co-parents and friends Cynthia Bailey and Leon Robinson from back in the day.

“Cynthia is my family,” the actor told Rolling Out in 2016 about making nice with Bailey’s suitors. “I would make a concerted effort to get along with any man Cynthia were to live with because he is in the house with my daughter on a day to day basis. I couldn’t imagine being at odds with a man that had that kind of contact with my daughter.”

“When people get married I think they are taking vows to at the very least try their hardest because things are not going to be easy,” he said when speaking on her past marital troubles with ex-husband Peter Thomas. “There will be times when you are unhappy and you are going to have to work through it. But there comes a point when it just doesn’t work out or people drift apart.”

Another way he supports Bailey is by making appearances from time to time on RHOA.

“Cynthia and I talked about it before she started taping. I told her that when I come down to visit my daughter that I would do scenes that involved my daughter and be my true self,” he told Rolling Out. “I have personally never watched the show but I hear that people really like me on it from my social media.”

When it comes to Hill, surprisingly, Robinson knew him before his ex did.

“I knew Leon before I knew Cynthia,” Hill said. “It wasn’t like I was breaking the bro code or anything like that. I knew him in passing and we knew each other from each other’s work obviously. He’s a big sports fan and I obviously know who he is from his acting career. So we met and we was actually gonna do a show together, try to get a show together, which we’re still gonna try and get together long before the whole thing.”

Bailey has said it’s easy for she and Robinson to co-parent because while they have love for each other, there’s nothing romantic there at this point.

“We all want our kids to be happy. And we’re all in relationships. Everyone’s moved on, so there’s no reason why we can’t co-parent effectively because we don’t want to be back together,” she told Bravo’s The Daily Dish. “We’re all pretty grown over here as well.”

Hill told us during an interview last year that he had Robinson’s support in having Noelle stay with him in LA.

“Leon has no problem with it. It’s just unfortunate that sometimes you see little blurbs and people jumping in your DMs and people jumping in your social media and saying stuff,” he said. “You try to avoid all the negativity. You see it and you hear it. But at the same time it’s like, it’s just disheartening sometimes that we can’t look at Black people, I’m just speaking real right now, that we can’t look at it and say we’re just here to help one another and not make it anything nefarious or weird or crazy or scandalous.”

Hill said that he and Robinson get along very well, claiming that “even when I met Cynthia, I didn’t even think about — this is Leon’s baby mama. We just met and it just kinda happened that way.  But, you know, he’s been so supportive and so loving and caring,” he said. “He’ll reach out and when we were in New York, he wants to hang out with all of us.”

Bailey told The Daily Dish you can’t be in her life without accepting that Robinson will be a part of it, even though Noelle is an adult now.

“I’m a package deal,” she said. “Noelle is Leon’s daughter so it was important to me, for Leon obviously to get to know Mike and like Mike said, they actually knew each other before. But now, they actually have a relationship. He’s completely supportive of our union. We all just make it work.”

“I knew that the moment I found out that I was pregnant by Leon, he was the kind of man that I could parent and co-parent with regardless of whether or not we stayed together in a relationship,” Bailey said of her ex and their relationship. “We share similar morals and values on how to raise a child. Although things didn’t work out for us as a couple, I will always love him for helping me bring our beautiful, smart, and kind Noelle into the world. He is Noelle’s dad, and he will always be a part of my family.”
