Clothing Designer Jeffrey Lee Finds the Right Fit
(Charlotte Post) — Jeffrey Lee isn’t afraid to test the limits of how far he can go in fashion. He said he was told a clothing line would never work with a name like HTDOGWTR – pronounced “Hot Dog Water” – but he created it anyway. “People still tell me to this day you won’t get that far with this name,” he said. “And it just opens more doors for me. I just sit back and smile like little do you know where all this comes from.” Lee said that he became interested in making clothes at age 5 when his mother, Sherri Williams, taught him to sew. “She used to make a lot of my costumes for Halloween. I saw her do alterations and stuff so that kind of caught my eye,” he said. “One year it was an M.C. Hammer costume. She wouldn’t just sew it herself, she would also let me do it. We would go to the fabrics store, and I got to put my own flavor on it.”
