What you do with your body hair is your choice. But if you want to make sure your legs are hairless, your bikini line is trimmed up, and the rest of your body hair is tame for summer, it’s important to know what products to use to get the best results.

I’ve tried it all at this point: at-home waxing, threading, in-spa waxing, shaving creams, hair removal creams, and lasers too, so I know that everything is not for everyone.

When it comes to Black skin, for example, it’s best to stay away from at-home IPL lasers and leave that type of hair removal to the pros. It can be tempting to try it, but few are geared towards Black skin, and even the ones that are deemed safe for us come with a warning.

Outside of the home, I swear by laser hair removal, which I and many of my friends (of all shades) have tried and loved. It is important to do your research with that too, and to make sure that you go to a facility that is reputable and also knows the effects of its lasers on Black skin.
