These beauty marks (taking a queue from Ciara) came from her two sons, Yasin and Nasir. They are her kids with husband Salim Akil, with whom she’s been married to since 1999. She remains married to him following allegations against him launched last year where he was accused of physically and sexually abusing a woman he had a 10-year relationship with while married to Mara. She could very well be making things work with her husband — or that “he” she mentions in the stretch marks caption could be a new suitor. Never know…

This isn’t new for Mara, though. She inspired a lot of women by also choosing to openly accept her gray hair and letting it grow in, proclaiming it to the world in 2017. Fans loved it.

“I’ve received nearly 9,000 likes on one photo and so much love; I think people could see that I was accepting who I was in that moment,” she told Oprah Mag in 2018. But I also realize I can change my mind if I want to. We women don’t often give ourselves permission to do that. If I color my hair again, so be it.”
