Rihanna has worked her way through the fashion industry from style icon, to a money making collaborator, to shifting beauty culture…and now she’s coming for high fashion. The 31 year old debuted her high fashion collection, FENTY, at a pop-up store in Paris on Wednesday evening. The Bajan beauty isn’t playing with her fashion empire and some of the most revered people in the fashion industry from the Founder and Creative Director of cult brand Colette to major fashion photographers, to the VP of Communications at Dior and more, came out to support.
It’s no surprise the collection is fire. While the event was ultra exclusive and the online store doesn’t launch until May 29th, we have all the BTS details you might have missed!

It was a party!
The supposed beef between Rihanna and Beyoncé is clearly no more. The Pour It Up singer was recorded dancing to Beyoncé’s ‘Party’ and smiling.

Share the influence.
The businesswoman understands the power of social media and marketing. In addition to fashion vets, she had model Paloma Elsesser, Adesuwa Aighewi and DJ Kitty Cash attend…all wearing her new line!

Pop up!
The pop-up store is clean and minimal. The ocean blue reminds me so much of the waters from Barbados, the home country of the artist and entrepreneur.

How she chose what to wear for the big event.
“This one made me look the snatchest in my waist and my butt look the biggest. There you go. It literally came down to that.”

Is she launching a menswear line too?
Rihanna’s longtime assistant, Jahleel, was spotted wearing full Fenty…and not all of these pieces were at the launch! It wouldn’t be a surprise if she dropped this fashion easter egg as we spotted Rihanna wearing Fenty glasses in January.
