Bring on the camp! The 2019 Met Gala has officially kicked off in New York City.

The annual fashion extravaganza is held every year on the first Monday in May to celebrate the opening of its popular fashion exhibit at the Costume Institute. It’s all about unforgettable style statement-making moments, but with a theme of “Camp: Notes on Fashion” this time around, celebs took things to a whole other level with their eye-popping fashion lewks.

The theme, is not an homage to camping in the wilderness, but rather exaggerated fashion. Campy fashion is over-the-top, with notes of humor, quirkiness, and even irony, and Serena Williams, Billy Porter, Lupita Nyong’o and more nailed it as they hit the pink stairs of the Metropolitan Museum  of Art Monday evening.
