Nipsey Hussle's Sister Files For Guardianship Of His Daughter Emani
Judge Denies Nipsey Hussle’s Sister Temporary Guardianship Of His Daughter Emani
According to documents obtained by The Blast, Samantha Smith, the sister of late rapper Nispey Hussle, was recently denied temporary guardianship of his daughter Emani Asghedom.
The ruling comes after Smith filed paperwork at the Los Angeles Superior Court earlier this week to become the legal guardian of the 10-year-old. In the documents Smith contended that Emani’s mother, Tanisha Foster, was not capable of providing a stable environment for her daughter.
However the recent ruling stated, “No urgency demonstrated for granting this relief prior to hearing on May 14th.”
The judge also ruled that Smith must give notice to Foster, who was reportedly unaware of the motion to file for temporary guardianship.

Nipsey Hussle’s sister Samantha Smith is vowing to make good on a promise that she made to her brother after his untimely passing.
According to a recent report by TMZ, Smith recently filed paperwork at the Los Angeles Superior Court to become the legal guardian of Emani Asghedom, Hussle’s 10-year-old daughter. Hussle’s father, Dawit Asghedom, also signed the papers, PEOPLE reports.
Hussle also has another son, Kross, 2 with actress Lauren London.
Smith reportedly believes that Emani would be in better care if she lived with her due to the fact that Hussle, whose real name was Ermias Asghedom, served as her primary caretaker.
Smith contends that it would be best for Emani as she’s cared for her throughout her life. Smith reportedly lived with her brother before until 2014/2015 and has remained in contact with Emani since his death. She also wants “to ensure the continued stability for Emani and ensure that she will be able to maintain her current and ongoing relationship” with Nipsey’s family.
Emani’s mother, Tanisha Foster, and Hussle seemed to enjoy a cordial relationship, even after their romance ended. Tanisha also shared a tribute to the late rapper in the aftermath of his death. Foster, however, has not yet responded to the reports, according to PEOPLE.
On April 2, days after his death, Smith shared an emotional tribute to her brother, thanking him for being a guiding force in her life.
“I got Lauren. I got Emani. I got Kross. I got Sam, he is my responsibility now. He is my big little brother. I got mommy and Granny and Pop. You gave me so many tools,” she wrote.
The South Los Angeles rapper was gunned down on March 31 in front of his clothing store, The Marathon.
