New capabilities of Mobile Phones Prompting Businesses to Adapt
(Knoxville News Sentinel) — There’s an app for that. It’s the catchphrase Apple made popular – and subsquently trademarked – with the 2007 release of its iPhone, which to date has been purchased by more than 50 million users. Such smart phones have changed the way consumers and businesses view mobile devices that not long ago were used just for talking. Now, they come equipped with cameras, games, Web capabilities and access to thousands of applications that do everything from finding the nearest fueling station with the cheapest gas to keeping track of how many alcoholic beverages a person consumes in an evening.
