Atlanta Businessman Tells His Rags-to-Riches Story
(Alton Telegraph) — If optimism equates to wealth, James Hickman already is a rich man. As it is, the Alton native does pretty well for himself. He has his hands in so many businesses that it makes the head swirl. Now, he’s in the process of making a documentary about a person he knows quite well. The subject is a man with a learning disability who struggled from the time he was a child, a man who overcame all kinds of obstacles, including prison, to rise to rubbing shoulders with some of America’s black elite. It is a movie about him.
