Baby Phat is back and it feels like the early 2000s all over again. Pull out your track suits, puffer coats and velour jumpsuits!

The mastermind behind the once wildly popular women’s fashion brand, Kimora Lee Simmons, announced the news to Women’s Wear Daily, saying she bought back the brand and will relaunch it later this year. The inspiration for the decision to do this, as she shared with the publication, is her daughters, Ming and Aoki, and young women their age (around the college age) who could use a message that the brand represented in its heyday. She wants to help champion Black women in fashion once again.

“It’s perfect timing for this,” she said. “Over the past several years, we realized the brand resonates with people and lives deep in their souls.”

She hopes to bring it back as a “mainstream sportswear” line for Millennials, but that doesn’t mean you can’t pick up a signature tee and some jeans (fingers crossed they’ll go back to their roots with the upcoming designs) and represent like you used to.
