Barry Movie Set for DVD Release
(Afro) — The biopic, “The Nine Lives of Marion Barry,” is set for release Dec. 7 on DVD. According to the film’s distributor, Indiepix, the highly acclaimed movie also be available on iTunes, Amazon.com and most major retailers. Barry currently represents Ward 8 in Southeast Washington where he’s often lauded as a folk hero. He has also served several terms as mayor. While many people will remember Barry as the philandering drug-addled mayor of the nation’s capital that was arrested in a 1990 drug sting, his achievements and phoenix-like rebirth have made him a symbol of mythic indestructibility, according to a release this week from Indiepix.
