Davis Says He’s Best to Bridge Gap Between Rich, Poor
(Chicago Sun Times) — Claiming that he is the “grass-roots” candidate best placed to “bridge the gap” between rich and poor, long-serving U.S. Rep. Danny Davis officially announced Sunday that he is running for mayor of Chicago. Davis spoke to a sweltering room full of more than 60 supporters during a meeting at the Hotel Allegro downtown that felt at times like a church revival. He said he doesn’t pretend to “have answers to all of our financial problems” but called on “everyday people” to join his campaign and help his team find solutions.
