Soul Brothers’ Eatery Nourishes the Body and Community
(The Michigan Citizen) — Owned and operated by a trio of young African American entrepreneurs, this soul food restaurant serves up more than delectable dishes. The three friends are shining examples of brotherhood, community leadership and entrepreneurial fortitude. The trio, native Detroiters Chef Robert Hewitt, Murdock Thomas and Wisconsin transplant Dave Killins, puts education at the forefront of their business venture. “We all attended college, Murdock went to HBCU Florida A&M, Robert attended Fisk, and I received my degree in Technical Degree Engineering. We used the skill set we learned in school and from our families to become successful entrepreneurs,” Killins said.
