What better way for many of us to show off all the hard work and discipline we commit to in order to shed some weight and live healthier than by putting on a swimsuit? Sherri Shepherd took things a step further by posing in a swimsuit not only for the ‘Gram, but also in a new ad campaign for Swimsuits for All. The 51-year-old did so in grand fashion, modeling a few looks alongside supermodels, including Ashley Graham, on the beach in Anguilla in her first major non-TV or film-related photo shoot.

“I never thought when I made the commitment to my son Jeffrey to get my health together and get off #sugar that an opportunity of posing for @swimsuitsforall would happen,” she wrote on Monday. “From the moment I got on the #beach @supermodelemme @ashleygraham & @taralynn hugged me and made me feel like a #supermodel. This #photoshoot was truly a dream come true and to you ladies over 40… please remember nothing is impossible if you focus and commit to the work♥️ God has not forgotten you. He sees those desires and dreams you have hidden deep in your #heart .”

Not only was it a “dream come true,” but it was also a chance for Shepherd to face her fears.

“I said yes to being in a swimsuit bc I wanted to encourage you to run towards the very things you #fear bc there are amazing #blessings on the other side,” she wrote.

As previously shared, Shepherd gave up all added sugar in 2018 and lost more than 30 pounds. However, she didn’t do it for the weight loss. As she told Wendy Williams last year, the inspiration actually came from her son, Jeffrey.

“Sometimes you go through stuff and you want to just grab something sweet. Ex-husbands, things like that,” she joked. “And I was doing that and Jeffrey was in the backseat, Wendy, and I was eating something I wasn’t supposed to. He said, ‘Mommy, if you die, who’s going to be my bodyguard?’ I said, ‘What are you talking about?’ ‘Who’s going to watch me?’ And literally I said, ‘Sherri, you’ve got to do something different.'”

And now that doing something different has allowed her to make one dream come true, the next goal to tackle is finding someone to share her new healthy and happy lifestyle with.

“I’m single and I’m open. I’ve been single for about four years. I think I’m ready to put my feet into the dating pool,” she said in December. “The water’s a little cold, but I think I’m ready. Don’t send me none of your uncles. I need people with their own teeth, their own knees. Good credit. Maybe they own their own home. You know, I got a lot of little factors, but I think I’m ready to date.”
