Evidence Mounts Against Bishop Long
According to CBS/AP news, The New Birth Missionary Baptist Church says it acknowledges that Pastor Eddie Long “four young men on trips, but claims it can neither confirm nor deny whether any inappropriate acts took place.” Furthermore, “The church understands that Bishop Long often shared hotel rooms with members of the congregations while traveling,” stated the response, but it did not indicate whether Flagg shared a hotel room with the pastor, reports The Atlanta Journal Constitution. Herein lies the discrediting facts: why would a wealthy pastor feel the need to share a hotel room with his much younger church members? Long is innocent until proven guilty but this additional information, along with the pictures that he sent to young church members in tight shirts, certainly doesn’t help his case. His church, which has stood by him since the accusations were made, is probably feeling the pressure to come clean on all facts lest they get caught in a web of deceit. We’ll continue to follow how this story develops.
