Ethics Complaints Filed Against Five Atlanta School Board Members
(AJC) — Two Atlanta parents have filed ethics complaints against five city school board members, alleging policy violations by each in their fight for control of the board. Kim Kawach and Allison Adair filed the complaints Thursday, three days after one of the nation’s top accrediting agencies notified Atlanta Public Schools that its board’s capacity to govern was “in serious jeopardy” and it planned to visit the city school system next month for a formal review. The complaints are against new board Chairman Khaatim Sherrer El, new Vice Chairwoman Yolanda Johnson, Nancy Meister, Courtney English and Brenda Muhammad.
