Nickles Prepares to Subpoena Thomas
(Washington Post) — D.C. Attorney General Peter Nickles was preparing to issue a subpoena Tuesday evening to D.C. Council member Harry Thomas Jr. for documents related to his oversight of a nonprofit organization that is not registered with the Internal Revenue Service or in good standing with city regulators. Nickles said Thomas (D-Ward 5) failed to voluntarily turn over the information. Last week, Nickles sent Thomas a letter asking for financial and other information about the donors and leaders of Team Thomas, which the council member bills as a community nonprofit.
