This chill time was much needed

The beginning of the year is the perfect time to reflect on what you’re consuming, and that includes who and what you’re tuned in to on social media. If you’re all about good vibes and fresh energy in 2019, these 10 extraordinary people will surely add some magic to your timeline. You know their names, but see what it is about their pages that has people talking.

@willsmith

Will Smith has only been on Instagram for a year, but he’s already producing social media gold. He really makes you feel like you’re a part of his journey. Followers get what seems like a very intimate and authentic look at his life – thoughts on his failures and shortcomings included.  Whether it’s an actual laugh out loud moment, a few head nods, or even a tear or two, the Fresh Prince will definitely make you feel some type of way.

@Jstlbby

Amber Wagner is someone to watch in 2019. The proud BBW and Inglewood native shares with her 1.7 million followers on Instagram her eccentric style, raps, funny tidbits about life, spiritual wisdom, and my favorite — her elaborate two-inch nails. Wagner isn’t new to social media fame, but recently she’s taken a more uplifting approach to being real with her followers.

@rickeythompson

Rickey Thompson is a whole mood. The Raleigh native and vine veteran dominated the viral Internet scene with shady rants and impromptu dance sessions. He’s walked the catwalk for Alexander Wang and recently made a cameo in a music video for rapper Amine. Thompson is “booked and busy,” so expect more magic in 2019.

@wesleysnipes

Wesley Snipes is considered a legend. He’s known for his various roles in Hollywood and infamously avoiding $7 million in taxes (but not jail time).  After serving nearly three years in correctional facilities for tax evasion, he’s definitely found his footing again and a niche on twitter.

@vintageblackglamour

Be blown away by the past. Nichelle Ganier’s Vintage Black Glamour page, which became a successful book, shares snapshots of Black Hollywood’s finest from over the years. The page offers video of classic performances (Josephine Baker, Tina Turner, Nancy Wilson are just a few of many), a history lesson with every post, and gives you a sense of appreciation for the legacies of our living and long gone icons.
