On October 1, singer Tyrese and wife Samantha Lee Gibson welcomed their first daughter together, Soraya Lee Gibson. She’s already growing up fast:

And though Samantha has been tending to her baby girl (and keeping her husband from returning to his ways of problematic tweeting), she’s also started working on herself. She’s returned to the gym and is both looking and feeling more like herself these days. She showed off the ways in which her hard work has paid off with a picture of her post-baby body, sharing that she’s shed nearly 40 pounds eight weeks after Soraya’s arrival with the help of boot camp workouts with her trainer LaShaunda.

“Time: 8 Weeks Post Partum from C Sec Weight Loss Journey: About 35 lbs. 8 lbs from pre pregnancy. 18 total lbs from my absolute goal,” she wrote. “I’ve been able to get in the gym now for 3 wks. I know I’m not where I want to be, but I’m thanking God for the progress I’ve made & for the self control to eat clean! It’s hard!!!! Thanking Him for @getfitwithlj! & Total Body Boot Camps!”

And while she is understandably feeling herself, no one is more impressed with what Samantha’s been able to do so far than Tyrese, of course. He took to Instagram when she posted a photo of herself with baby Soraya and looked anything but exhausted from being on mommy duty, and the singer let her know he was ready for baby number two.

“I leave the house for 45 mins and you upload this??? You can’t do this,” he joked on Instagram. “You said we’re supposed to wait another year to start working on our son…… Then you do this..?? You drop 30 pounds in 2 weeks and you feeling it huh?? I get it…. Samantha isn’t the only one looking and feeling great soon after giving birth. The year was filled with a whole host of new babies, and the famous women who brought them into the world proudly showed off their version of a snapback.
