Meeks Can Run Church, City, Ministers Say
(Chicago Sun Times) — The question of whether the Rev. James Meeks could run both his megachurch and the City of Chicago at the same time shouldn’t even be an issue, a group of African-American ministers said Sunday.
There are plenty of cases across the nation of religious leaders holding down demanding political jobs, they said. And they suggested that those people questioning Meeks’ ability to be a minister-mayor are holding him to a double standard.
