Tides have turned for singer Tyrese in his child custody/child support battle with his ex-wife Norma Gibson. A judge ruled that there are limits to the amount of money Norma can collect as it pertains to childcare costs, particularly if this childcare takes place when Norma is not doing anything work-related.

According to documents obtained by TMZ, a judge ruled that Norma Gibson can’t expect Tyrese to cover childcare costs for their 11-year-daughter Shayla if Norma is running “non-work errands” or running her household.

Tyrese has often expressed his frustrations about the money he was spending in childcare costs, particularly because he believed that Norma was living the life and wasn’t making enough of an effort to get a steady job.

The judge qualified what constitutes work activities for Norma, including developing her life-coaching business, working on her book or pursuing her career as an visual artist. If she requires childcare for those activities, Tyrese would be responsible for paying for it.

Tyrese demanded an itemized list of how Norma spends the time for which she bills him. A judge agreed it was a good idea. While he didn’t order it, he did recommend that Norma “maintain a diary of time spent on work.”
