Ga. Ports Playing Big Role in Atlanta Economy
(Atlanta Business Chronicle) — More than $8 billion in cargo bound for metro Atlanta during the last fiscal year was shipped through the Port of Savannah, according to a report released Friday by the Georgia Ports Authority.
Those numbers demonstrate the importance of Georgia’s ports throughout the state, not just in the coastal region, authority Executive Director Curtis Foltz told members of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce during a luncheon at Georgia Tech.
