Quinn Picks Northstar to Run Illinois Lottery
(Crain’s) — Northstar Lottery Group was selected Wednesday to manage Illinois’ $2-billion-a-year lottery system, a move expected to boost the state’s ailing budget.
Gov. Pat Quinn’s announcement at a Thompson Center news conference marks the end of a process that began two years ago amid an effort to secure backing for construction bonds, in addition to continuing the tradition of using lottery money to contribute to state education funds.
