Taraji P. Henson To Tie The Knot Next Summer

Empire actress Taraji P. Henson is in full wedding mode with plans to head down the aisle with her fiancé Kelvin Hayden very soon.

Henson, 48, revealed the two will marry in summer of 2019 during a recent interview with US Weekly.

“It’ll be next summer, end of June, early July,” she said. The affair will be a private gathering made for “close family and friends.” “All my family, all his family are close friends. Small, intimate,” Henson said.

When asked if she was counting down the days, she made it clear that she couldn’t hardly wait.

“Oh God yeah, because I’m marrying my best friend. I know that’s cliché, but it’s the truth.”

The couple kept most of their dating life very private with just a few pics for the gram here and there. Henson announced their engagement on Instagram showing off her sparkler to her fans.

She retold the story of his romantic proposal recently during an appearance on The Tonight Show.

Hayden, 35, popped the question on Mother’s Day 2018 and successfully coordinated the whole affair without Henson knowing.

She said that he convinced her to go to the restaurant where they had their first date, Sunda, an upscale eatery in Chicago. Hayden told her they were attending a surprise party for a friend and took her in a private room.

“So I get back in the back room, and there’s a violinist playing ‘Adore’ by Miguel, which is one of our favorite songs,” she said. “So I’m putting two and two together, and then I see a photographer, and I turn around, and he’s already down on one knee. And of course I’m crying and gushing. My lashes come off. They look like a spider on the floor. And the rest is history.”

Henson said she just wants her wedding to be stress free.

“I just want it to be happy, free and easy and fun and everybody will talk about it like, “Oh my God, that was the best wedding I ever went to!'”
