When most people watch Serena Williams play tennis, they’re usually focused on her style of play, maybe her outfit, and sometimes her choice of hairstyle for her match. But her edges? Who knew there were people fully invested in them?
As it turns out, a few women have actually reached out to her husband, Alexis Ohanian, Sr., to ask him for the secret behind the 36-year-old’s edges. They are impressed that she manages to play hours of tennis, often in serious heat, but her hair never looks out of place. A group of women actually asked him to ask her what kind of edge control she is using, and surprisingly, he obliged them.
So Ohanian sent his wife a text, asking her to divulge the secret behind her ability to keep her edges slicked down. It was a pretty funny exchange considering the question came out of left field for the tennis ace, and she ended up declining to share the coveted product in question.
While he didn’t have the ability to get the inside scoop from her, the ladies of Twitter were appreciative, and even encouraged Williams to start a line of hair products, specifically edge control gel, which is actually a great idea.
Love the way Alexis interacts with his followers, and we also appreciate how open and fun they are about their relationship. He’s never been shy about sharing how much of an inspiration she is to him.
“I really thought I was like the hardest working person I knew. I thought tech was the hardest working industry. Our businesses are open 24/7 and, of course, we’re always working and grinding. But then I started talking to her and then realized very quickly, just how wrong I was,” he told Fox Business.
“It’s a front row seat to greatness and that is what I’m working towards in my own career,” he added.
